Two years ago, one man was victorious. He was selected as The Chosen One, a social media guru to bring Bathurst to the fans.

In 2013 – when V8 Supercar racing is closer than ever – The Chosen One returns, sharing the unique experience at the ultimate racing circuit. A fan with an access all areas pass.

In addition to V8 Supercars’ official coverage, expect photos, updates and inside information from The Chosen One as he scouts around the Mountain, pushing through rain, hail or shine.

Having built his Twitter profile, he is back by popular demand now with Storify, and his drive to deliver is higher than ever.

“What I’ve offered in the past, and what I will definitely be doing again, is things like staying behind at the circuit and giving updates in terms of what’s going on in the garage,” he said.

“Another good thing is the interaction – I can say, ‘Guys what do you want to know?’ and some will say, ‘Can you go and check on the Holden Racing Team to see what they’re up to?’. I’ll be able to go look in their garage and give real time updates.

“And I’ll also travel the entire circuit, I’ll go to the top of the Mountain.”

A self-confessed motorsport nut, there’s a reason why he is The Chosen One. “Nothing gets in the way of being able to experience and bring motorsport to everyone,” he said.

“I was out there once with some fans at the very last corner on the track, Murray’s, and the change in weather conditions meant in the same day I went from a T-shirt and shorts, to I having to go and buy some tracksuit pants from the merchandise and really warm up!”

From the atmosphere on race day, the feeling amongst the campsites and behind the scenes updates while the cameras are focused on track action, to the great moments, Official V8 Supercars and The Chosen One will have you covered throughout the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

And speaking of great moments – what does The Chosen One think of as the best of the best in the Great Race?

“The first year I attended was when the Perkins Motorsport team blew a tyre on the first lap. At the end of the first lap they were last, and they went on to win the race. That absolutely stands out in my mind as one of the key events I remember.

“The next one was definitely when Craig Lowndes crossed the finish line first only weeks after Peter Brock, his mentor, had passed away. That was another massive event for V8 Supercars and Bathurst.”

Follow The Chosen One on Twitter for updates on the ground at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, as well as V8 Supercars, and don’t miss a minute of the race that stops the nation.

Tickets are also still available for the event through Ticketek.
