Lee Holdsworth's first season with Grove Racing will come with the #10 on the window.

The latest Bathurst winner's 2022 Penrite Racing livery was unveiled on Wednesday, with the oil company stepping up its backing of the team.

Holdsworth and fellow Bathurst winner David Reynolds will, for the first time in their careers, race as teammates.

The Grove squad has benched the #7, which was run by former team owner Todd Kelly between 2008 and 2017.

The #7 was passed on to Andre Heimgartner, who raced for the team between 2018 and 2021. He won a race in Tailem Bend last May.

Holdsworth will race with the #10, with Reynolds to retain the #26 he campaigned with last year.

The #10 has lots of history in Supercars, but hasn't been used on a full-time basis since 2010.

It was famously carried to the 1986 title aboard a Volvo, with Kiwi Robbie Francevic winning the Swedish marque's only championship.

It was also used by the likes of Jim Richards and Allan Grice in the 1970s.

The #10 was used by racer, team owner and now broadcaster Mark Larkham for the balance of his Supercars career.

Larkham used the number in conjunction with sponsor Mitre 10, and also scored his only race win at Calder Park in 2000 with the #10.

To date, Larkham's Calder win remains the last victory for the #10.

The #10's last full-time season was in 2010

The #10 remained with Larkham's team, with Jason Bargwanna assuming the number in 2004.

Bargwanna continued with the number into the team's WPS Racing era in 2006 and 2007.

When the team closed in 2008, the #10 travelled to Walkinshaw Racing and graced an Autobarn Commodore raced by Paul Dumbrell in 2009.

In 2010, Andrew Thompson carried the car all season in Bundaberg Red colours. Ever since, the #10 has made one-off appearances.

The XBOX wildcard in 2013

An XBOX-backed Triple Eight wildcard was steered to 10th at Mount Panorama in 2013 by international aces Andy Priaulx and Mattias Ekstrom,

A year later, the Tim Slade-Tony D'Alberto satellite Walkinshaw car carried the #10 in celebration of sponsor Supercheap Auto's sponsorship of the Great Race.

The #10's most recent appearance was in 2015, with Ash Walsh's Erebus Mercedes promoting Penrite's 10 Tenths Racing Oils brand at the Pukekohe round.

Holdsworth and his team will conduct a test day at Winton on February 22 ahead of the season opener in Sydney in March.
