Team 18 has revealed the Hino livery that Scott Pye will carry on his Chevrolet Camaro at next month’s Newcastle season opener.

Pye will return for a fourth season with Team 18 alongside Mark Winterbottom in 2023.

The #20 Camaro will carry backing from Hino at the Thrifty Newcastle 500, with the brand sticking with Team 18 for a seventh season.

Hino branding will also feature on the front guards and rear bumper of both Team 18 cars this year.

Team 18 revealed the Pye livery via renders, with the red and black scheme created by designer Nick Moss.

The livery was brought to life by PPG paint and Ball & Doggett vinyl.

The car will hit the track for the first time for testing at Winton Motor Raceway on Thursday 16 February.

Pye will then roll out the car at the all-in test at Sydney Motorsport Park on Wednesday 22 February.

“The Hino Camaro looks fantastic and I’m super excited to get behind the wheel — hopefully it’s covered in champagne pretty early in the year,” Pye said.

“Being in the workshop to see the car build has been really inspiring, and I’m confident we’ll arrive for testing in a really good position and be ready to rumble by Round 1 at Newcastle.

“My pre-season has been massive — I only took one week off in New Zealand, I was pretty frustrated after Adelaide last year and I turned that frustration quickly into a positive by getting back into training early.”

The Camaro will also be backed by Toyota Forklifts, Mondiale VGL, Barry Bourke Motors, Super Spill Solutions, BP Ultimate, Kenworth Trucks, Credence Insurance, Waverley Forklifts, D2N Technology Solutions, Taubmans, Ball & Doggett, Ozwide Joinery, ELWD Workwear, Alpinestars, Authentic Collectables, Bell Collision, and Style Print.

Ceil Batteries, ACDelco Batteries, Mechanix Wear, The Cover Shop and RXT Helmets also sponsor the #20 Camaro.

Team owner Charlie Schwerkolt added: We at Team 18 are so proud to reveal the colours of our first Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro ahead of the 2023 season launch in Newcastle.

“It’s an exciting time as we are not only racing brand new cars, but racing two new cars that we have built in house.

“It’s a testament to the entire staff at Team 18 for their hard work and efforts to get set for the new chapter of Supercars kicking off next month,” he continued.

“It’s a great honour to welcome Hino as title partner on our first Gen-3 livery as well as welcoming all our new and existing partners to the team this year.

"We can’t wait to see Scott hit the track in his Camaro for the first time at Newcastle."

The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Newcastle on March 10-12.
