The 2016 Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint will deliver unprecedented value for fans with V8 Supercars announcing special ticket prices for Tasmania’s largest annual sporting event.

Fans will be able to enjoy the action at the newly upgraded Symmons Plains Raceway for as little as $10, with prices slashed by up to 34% for this year’s event from April 1-3.

A single adult Friday Trackside ticket will cost from $10, with Saturday from $25 and Sunday from $35. Children 12 and under will receive free admission when accompanied by an adult with a Trackside ticket.

A three-day adult Trackside pass, including paddock access, has been reduced from $109 in 2015 to only $80 this year.

And in a new initiative, the Park and View Package will provide a family of two adults and two children three days of racing, access for their car and V8 Supercars paddock admission for just $160.

V8 Supercars Chief Executive James Warburton said the special offer would allow even more fans to enjoy Tasmania’s largest annual sporting event.

“We believe this offer will attract not only motor sport fans but new fans who haven’t been to the event before to come and enjoy all it has to offer,” he said.

“Symmons Plains has a great history and tradition and capital works upgrades supported by the Tasmanian Government will only strengthen its position in Australian motor sport and leave a lasting legacy for motor racing in Tasmania.

“We encourage everyone to take advantage of this offer and help make the 2016 Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint one of the biggest and best yet.”

Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman said it was a major event for Tasmania with over 50,000 spectators injecting almost $5 million a year into the local economy.

“It not only draws thousands of interstate visitors to Tasmania, it gives Tasmanians a chance to experience an international sporting event at home,” he said.

“The Tasmanian Government is proud to support the event and provide $2 million over four years to improve Symmons Plains. The investment will build on the raceway’s reputation as one of the country’s best spectator venues and technically challenging circuits for drivers.”

The Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint is supported by the Tasmanian Government through Events Tasmania.
