A strong Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight return has Shane van Gisbergen in the early lead for the Beaurepaires Sydney Cup.

To celebrate Supercars' quadruple-header at Sydney Motorsport Park, Beaurepaires is throwing a $25,000 cash prize behind the first-ever Sydney Cup.

The Beaurepaires Sydney Cup will be awarded to the driver who accumulates the most points over the four rounds being held at SMSP.

The trophy and the $25,000 cheque will be presented to the winning driver at the Race 30 podium presentation of the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight on November 21.

Van Gisbergen helped himself to finishes of second, first and fourth at the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight.

The Red Bull Ampol Racing driver's 272-point haul was 42 points better than next best Will Davison.

Davison finished second behind van Gisbergen in Sunday's first race, and was fifth in the day's later race.

The Shell V-Power Racing Team veteran finished seventh in the Saturday night race.

Anton De Pasquale won Races 20 and 22, but was excluded from the Race 21 results amid a tyre mix-up.

Had De Pasquale not be excluded from Race 21, in which he finished fifth, he would have outscored van Gisbergen by five points.

Instead, he ended the weekend 67 points adrift and seventh overall.

Erebus Motorsport drivers Will Brown and Brodie Kostecki sandwiched Nick Percat, with the three drivers filling positions three to five.

Jamie Whincup, who claimed a podium in Race 22, is sixth overall.

Only Davison, Brown, Percat, Kostecki, Whincup, De Pasquale and Chaz Mostert are within a sprint race's worth of points - including bonus fastest lap points - of van Gisbergen.

Brown, Kostecki and De Pasquale each claimed five bonus points for setting the fastest lap in the three races.

The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will resume this weekend at the ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight.

Tickets for the three upcoming Sydney events are on sale now.
