Second-generation racer Cameron Crick will make his Dunlop Super2 Series debut with Eggleston Motorsport this year.

Crick will make the jump from the Haltech SuperUtes Series to Super2 for the 2022 season.

The 24-year-old adds to Eggleston Motorsport’s growing tally of developing young talent in the series.

Recent Supercars race winner Will Brown debuted with the team in 2017, with Paul Dumbrell claiming his first Super2 title with Eggleston three years prior.

Crick will race an Eggleston-prepared Commodore in the six-round Super2 season, which will commence at Sydney Motorsport Park next month.

He began his karting career in 2014 and moved up to the Toyota 86 Series two years later, finishing third overall in the one-make category.

Crick contested a full-time campaign in the 2019 SuperUte series, claiming six race wins and 14 podiums.

He finished second overall in a tightly-fought 2021 series, just 12 points behind eventual champion Ryal Harris.

The progression to Super2 sees the Sydneysider follow in the footsteps of late father and six-time Bathurst 1000-starter Rodney.

For Crick, the Eggleston opportunity is a dream come true.

"I am super excited to be making the step up into Super2,” Crick said.

"Rachael and Ben Eggleston have made me feel very welcome and very comfortable from the get-go so I can’t wait to hook in.

"I have been exhausting absolutely all avenues and working super hard to make this happen.

"I honestly can’t thank my sponsors enough for making this step up with me.

"I am still working hard with my management team on locking in our partners and look forward to sharing the look of the car with everyone as we get closer to Round 1.

"I have only done a handful of laps in a Super3 car, so I’m really keen to get some miles under my belt and learn as much as I can before Round 1.

Crick will join 2021 Mike Kable Young Gun Award winner Matt McLean, who re-signed with the team for the 2022 season.

Team co-owner and manager Rachael Eggleston said the team is equally as excited to have Crick onboard.

"From the very first phone call I had with Cam I was impressed," Eggleston said.

"Not only is his on-track record impressive, but he is also a top bloke and someone who works incredibly hard behind the scenes to get himself on the race track.

"He will be a huge asset to all his partners and supporters as well as our team.

"It’s a privilege for us to be able to help drivers like Cam live out their dream of racing a Supercar, and he will leave no stone unturned to do the very best job he can.

"We will support him every step of the way.

"We can already tell his work ethic on and off the track will be second to none, and as a team, I am confident we can deliver some really strong results in his rookie season and provide great exposure and return for his loyal network of supporters."

Crick will attend the Super2 test day at Winton later this month.
