Supercheap Auto is celebrating a decade as title sponsor of Australia's Great Race, the iconic Bathurst 1000, by offering a once in a lifetime experience - the chance for a hot lap with Tim Slade around Bathurst's Mount Panorama circuit.

The competition offers the ultimate motorsport experience as a hot lap of the famous 6.213km Bathurst circuit - in a V8 Supercar during the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 weekend - has never before been offered as a prize to the public.

The lap is part of an epic Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 package for two, which includes return flights, airport transfers, two nights' accommodation and corporate passes to watch the big race.

David Bauer, Marketing Manager for Supercheap Auto, said the competition was a wonderful way to celebrate 10 years on the mountain.

"Supercheap Auto is very proud of its decade-long association with Australia's Great Race, the iconic Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000," Bauer said.

"To celebrate it by giving away a special once-in-a-lifetime experience to one of our Supercheap Auto Club Plus members is very fitting."

Supercheap Auto Racing driver Tim Slade endorsed the quality of the experience, having raced at Bathurst in V8 Supercars since 2009.

"Bathurst is one of the world's greatest race tracks and every V8 drivers' favourite," Slade said.

"So for someone to jump into the passenger seat and go for a ride - it'd be mega, and the best thing the winner has done, possibly, in their lifetime.

"The lap itself has everything: high-speed, including a flat-out blast down Conrod straight at 300km/h, low-speed, blind corners, plenty of elevation change...and there's no room for error."

Slade also had no hesitation, when asked which corner would provide the winner with the biggest buzz.

"The Grate, just after the Reid Park/Sulman Park corners," he said.

"It's massively quick, and you're surrounded by the walls. It's fairly blind as well. But, that's just a small part of it - the entire lap is a phenomenal experience."
