Supercars will race for points on all four days of the Australian Grand Prix event for the first time in 2023.
The track schedule for the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2023 was revealed on Friday.
The 2023 event follows the hugely successful return of the Grand Prix in 2022, which was held on the tweaked circuit layout.
Supercars joins Formula 2 and Formula 3 on the support card for F1 this year, with Porsche Carrera Cup also returning.
The Beaurepaires Melbourne SuperSprint will be the second round of the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship.
It will also be the first Gen3 race event on Victorian soil following the season-opening Thrifty Newcastle 500.
Supercars have competed for points in four sprint races at AGP events since 2018.
In 2023, races will be held on the Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the March 30-April 2 event.
Mostert and van Gisbergen shared the wins last year
Supercars previously raced on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the Melbourne round.
It's the first time in the 63-year history of the sport that a race will be held on a Thursday.
This year, drivers will qualify for Races 3 and 4 on Thursday, and Races 5 and 6 on Saturday.
However, Thursday’s action will round out with the first Supercars sprint race — the 19-lap Race 3 of the new season — in the afternoon.
The 15-lap Race 4 will be held on Friday, and the 13-lap Race 5 on Saturday, which is F1 qualifying day.
The fourth and final Supercars race, the 13-lap Race 6 of the 2023 season, will take place on Sunday morning before the Australian Grand Prix.
David Corrigan, Australian Grand Prix Corporation Division Manager, was excited to see more racing from Thursday.
“We are thrilled to welcome Formula 2 and Formula 3 to the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2023,” Corrigan said.
"With Australians on the track in every category, fans can expect four action-packed days of racing.
“The return of the popular Supercars and Porsche Carrera Cup categories round out an incredibly exciting track schedule, including races for both categories on Thursday for the first time.
"There’s something for every motorsport fanatic and for those new to the sport.”
The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Newcastle on March 10-12.
Tickets are on sale on Supercars.com and Ticketek.com.
