Families at the Watpac Townsville 400 will be the first to experience the Virgin Australia Supercars SuperKids Zone.

The brand-new family experience will be trackside at this weekend’s Watpac Townsville 400, where even the youngest Supercars fan will be able to test their skill behind the wheel.

The SuperKids Zone will be located near Watpac Pit Straight directly opposite pitlane, with direct access via Gate 3.

It will offer young fans the opportunity to enjoy a combination of activities.

That includes an inflatable racetrack with bikes, trikes and carts, a speed reaction game, table top activities focusing on patience and skills of steering, and the SuperKids Pit Stop Challenge.

This is the first time the SuperKids Zone will be offered to Virgin Australia Supercars Championship fans.

“The SuperKids Zone is an offering developed by Supercars and we’re thrilled to be launching it in Townsville,” Watpac Townsville 400 Event Manager Sam Pearce said.

“The SuperKids Zone will be a fully fenced, engaging area with activities designed for kids from three years old upwards, to test their racing abilities, it will also have a chill out space for parents to relax.

“We will also have SuperKids Zone Passports available with a space for a stamp from each activity a child completes in the SuperKids Zone, some tips on what to do at the Watpac Townsville 400 and there is space for autographs at driving signings.”

The SuperKids Zone will feature at three other Supercars events in 2019; the Century Batteries Ipswich SuperSprint, Penrite Oil Sandown 500 and season-ending Coates Hire Newcastle 500.

The Watpac Townsville 400 will run on the streets of Townsville this weekend, July 5-7, broadcast live on Fox Sports 506, Kayo Sports and Ten.
