The end-of-season Supercars Gala Awards Ceremony will be held following the Adelaide 500.

It was confirmed Thursday that the Adelaide 500 will host Supercars season finales until 2026.

The agreement has been signed by Premier Peter Malinauskas, SA Motorsport Board chief executive Mark Warren and Supercars CEO Shane Howard.

The return of Supercars’ black tie event comes in line with the agreement.

As is tradition, the Supercars Gala Awards Ceremony will take place the Monday following the final race of the year.

Major Gala Awards are headlined by the Barry Sheene Medal, which is awarded to the best and fairest driver.

Supercars last held a gala night in Sydney following the 2019 finale on the streets of Newcastle.

Major awards were handed out at Mount Panorama in 2020 and 2021.

The 2022 gala will be held on Monday December 5.

A venue will be announced in due course.

Premier Malinauskas says the gala will form part of "a spectacular end of the year”.

"This is an historic moment for motorsport in South Australia,” he said.

“Not only are we locking in the event’s return this year, but we are also securing the race for at least the next five years.

"I have every confidence hosting the final race in the Supercars Championship will become an integral part of the sport’s calendar in the same way the season opener in Adelaide used to be.

"Coupled with hosting the end of season gala awards night, this promises to be a spectacular end of the year leading into the Christmas period."

The 2022 season will resume at the NTI Townsville 500. Purchase your tickets now.
