Tim Slade's #47 Heavy Haulage Australia Racing Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG V8 Supercar will be sporting a new 'stars and stripes' inspired livery when he heads out on track for the first time at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Known for its hit television show MegaTruckers, Heavy Haulage Australia is celebrating the release of season one on America television by donning the colours of the US flag and the MegaTruckers logo for this weekend's race.

"With the success of the MegaTruckers program in Australia and the upcoming launch date in the US, we thought we'd take the opportunity to recognise this on the race car for Texas," said Managing Director of Heavy Haulage Australia, Jon Kelly.

"We've put the MegaTruckers logo on the front bonnet and incorporated a stars and stripes theme for the weekend.

"We're really happy with the design and hope that some of the 10 million odd truckers over there get behind us for the weekend.

"Obviously it's a one off thing for a bit of fun but we will revert back to our normal branding for Darwin to promote our core business of being Australia's biggest and best heavy haulage transportation provider," said Kelly.

Team Owner of Erebus Motorsport Betty Klimenko said she was proud to be carrying the patriotic colours on behalf of Heavy Haulage Australia.

"My family has been associated with businesses in the US for 25 years and I am very proud to not only be showcasing the stars and stripes on the Heavy Haulage Australia Racing car, but Erebus Motorsport V8 will also be displaying the Australian and American flags on each of our three cars.

"I lived in the US for part of my life and it's a bit like going home, so when I was in Perth I had this idea to put both the Australian and American flags together on the cars to express our friendship with the US.

"The Texas event is a special one for me as my whole family will be travelling there to watch the Erebus V8s race on the Circuit of the Americas track for the first time ever," said Mrs Klimenko.

Car #47 Driver Tim Slade said he hopes the American fans like the new livery as much as he does.

"I think the new livery is awesome and I think it is one of the best I have seen in quite a while.

"I really hope the American supporters like it and that they enjoy the TV show MegaTruckers when it is released there.

"Maybe I can convince Jon and the Heavy Haulage Australia crew to keep it on permanently," said Slade.
