Tickford Racing has celebrated its latest No. 1 ticket-holder with a "special" workshop tour.

A week out from the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint, Tickford revealed young Michael Arkalis as its No. 1 for season 2022.

The young Victorian has volunteered for his state SAS and St. John’s Ambulance.

Arkalis joined Tickford rookie Thomas Randle for a tour of Tickford’s Campbellfield headquarters.

Randle, who recently entered remission over testicular cancer, met Arkalis at a ride day held for cancer survivors in 2021.

The 2020 Super2 champion later surprised Arkalis with behind-the-scenes experience in Bathurst.

There, Arkalis also joined broadcaster Chad Neylon and Super2 racer Matt McLean for a tour of the TV and commentary compound.

At the time, Arkalis was left beaming by Randle and Tickford’s generosity.

"This has been the best experience of my life," said Arkalis, who has been battling brain cancer for most of his life.

"I can’t thank the Randle family enough and Tickford Racing, they have been amazing.

"I have had the best time of my life; I’ve got to see things that only people that own a race team get to see.

"I’m just having the best time. Thank you so much, I really appreciate everything they have done for me.”

Arkalis’ first event as Tickford’s No. 1 will be next weekend’s NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint. CLICK HERE to purchase your tickets.

Every session of the event will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 506 and streamed on Kayo.
