V8 Supercars teams and drivers have taken to social media to share ‘sneak peeks’ of their 2016 liveries, with full reveals not expected until next month.

With teams scheduled to test mid-February, fans will have to wait a little longer to see the new-look V8 Supercars, with only Mark Winterbottom’s Bottle-O Falcon FG X and Red Bull Racing Australia’s Commodores breaking cover.

The biggest name set to reveal a brand new scheme is Craig Lowndes, who heads to the Triple Eight TeamVortex entry. His door features above and new sponsor Caltex has been dropping some hints in the past few days.

One of the most interesting changes for the season will be Chaz Mostert’s Ford in Supercheap Auto colours, when the young gun returns to the cockpit.

The team is yet to officially confirm its third driver and sponsor, and its Super Black fourth entry may also be set for a makeover with driver Chris Pither long-associated with Ice Break.

Several teams are yet to confirm sponsors for the season – including Nissan for Rick Kelly, TEKNO for Will Davison and DJR Team Penske, which intends to continue rotating sponsors as it did last year.

The team expands to two cars for 2016 and boss Ryan Story explained at times both cars would run the same sponsors.

“There’s going to be some events where you’ll see both sponsors across both cars, but there will be some events where that won’t be the case,” he told v8supercars.com.au.

“We’ll try and make the most of that as it comes forward – but I think more often that not you’ll se both cars in the same livery.”

While Erebus has confirmed Penrite for David Reynolds’ entry, only a graphic representation of his Holden Commodore has been released.

His surprise teammate Aaren Russell will be backed by regular sponsors Plus Fitness, as last year’s driver Ash Walsh confirms he will tackle the Porsche Carrera Cup this season.

One full-time drive remains unconfirmed at Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport, with question marks around Nick Percat’s teammate at the developing squad after Tim Blanchard’s shift to Brad Jones Racing for the season.

Wilson Security GRM posted this photo of new recruit James Moffat yesterday – just how much does it give away? The team is set to reveal liveries on its February 20 open day.

Moff arrived to find his precious S60 in shark mode ready for his attack on the field this year!

Without an all-in SuperTest this season, teams test at their home test track – Winton or Queensland Raceway – on a day of their choice.
