Tim Slade has capped his busy 2022 by marrying long-time partner Dani Byrnes.

The wedding came just a week before the season-ending VALO Adelaide 500.

There, Slade raced for CoolDrive Racing for the final time.

The Adelaide-born, Gold Coast-based driver will shift to PremiAir Racing in the new year.

Slade and Byrnes wed amid the countdown to their second child together.

The couple welcomed first child, Jordy, just prior to the 2020 Bathurst 1000.

It came after they became engaged in November 2018.

Slade and Byrnes met at a Supercars Gala Awards during the driver’s early years in the main game.

The pair were later introduced formally through mutual friends.

Slade famously revealed that he would propose to Byrnes should he win a race.

He finally broke through at Winton Motor Raceway in 2016, and backed it up with a second win in as many days.

Slade finished his CoolDrive stint in 11th, just 22 points behind 10th-placed Andre Heimgartner.

“I definitely hoped for a lot more from this year,” Slade recently said, having just missed out on the overall top 10.

“We had good momentum at the end of last year, and the first few rounds of this year.

“We had a lot of potential, definitely didn’t maximise. We struggled quite a lot.

“I wouldn’t loved to have finished off in the top 10, it was close with Andre there."

The Slade wedding caps a big year off the track for Supercars drivers.

James Courtney married partner Tegan, and the couple later had their first child together. Courtney then scored an emotional Adelaide podium.

Heimgartner became engaged to partner Jemma, with the couple expecting their first child in the new year.

David Reynolds is also expecting his second child with partner Tahan.

Jack Le Brocq also revealed his engagement to partner Kenzie in September.

The year began with the retired Jamie Whincup, who took over operations at Triple Eight, welcoming his first child.

The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Newcastle next March.

Tickets are on sale on Supercars.com and Ticketek.com.
