A flurry of testing will take place tomorrow, ahead of the next V8 Supercars event, the Coates Hire Ipswich 360.

While Brad Jones Racing was originally scheduled for a two-day test, the weather has meant the team's testing will be pushed from today to tomorrow, and will most likely just be one day on track.

Team owner Brad Jones said it was frustrating, given this was to be the team’s first independent test for the year – but laughed the weather was one of the things he couldn’t control.

Ford Performance Racing will join at Winton tomorrow.

Meanwhile at Queensland Raceway tomorrow Red Bull Racing Australia, TEKNO Autosports, Erebus Motorsport V8 and Dick Johnson Racing will spend the day at their test track.

The latter two teams have conducted independent test days this year – but they had to be undertaken at Morgan Park, rather than their traditional test track, as Queensland Raceway had not breen available.

While most teams testing have had a performance decline at recent events, FPR has still been well placed in the results.

But the team feels the test is required to stay on top and sees it as an opportunity for all drivers and co-drivers to have a hit-out.

While FPR tested recently at Winton prior to the SKYCITY Triple Crown in June, Mark Winterbottom was still overseas and absent.

FPR engineering manager Mathew Nilsson said it was important to take the opportunity to run a test day.

“Every test day we get is vitally important as there are so few opportunities under our rules,” he said.

“We tested in the lead up to Darwin and we saw a substantial performance uplift there and then again last weekend in Townsville.

“Obviously we are keen to maintain the gains we've found over our rivals plus the engineers have a number of developments they want to evaluate, so testing again is crucial.

“It's also going to be the first time we have all main drivers and Endurance Cup co-drivers together so its a great chance for them to continue to gel as Sandown is getting ever closer.”

While most teams will be running co-drivers, TEKNO Autosports has confirmed its international imports will not be in the cars until the Sandown 500.

BJR has no word on a third co-driver, despite having Chris Pither run in the co-driver only practice session at the Sucrogen Townsville 400. With the seat having been intended for Allan Simonsen, who passed away at the recent Le Mans 24-Hour race, it was a sensitive issue – one that has not yet been resolved.
