Dick Johnson Racing will open its doors for fans tomorrow.

Supporters of the Wilson Security-backed team are encouraged to head to the Stapylton workshop to see the new #17 Falcon come to life as the crew races the clock to have a Ford for David Wall to load into the Scania Transporter Saturday 10 May. The transporter will then make the trip west from Queensland, to arrive for the Perth 400, which begins May 16.

“It is a great way to let the public see how much work is involved in building these cars in such a short time frame, and a way to let our fans come to the workshop on a Saturday,” DJR senior manager Ryan Story said.

“We have a fantastic and loyal fan base, so hopefully we will see plenty of those friends this Saturday.”

Wall was involved in an incident on Friday at the ITM 500 Auckland and substantial damage to his Falcon meant he was unable to participate for the rest of the race meeting.

The best approach for the team was to build up a new chassis for Wall, and while Story said the car was not irreparable, it wasn’t the best option given the timeframe.

The DJR Museum will also be open tomorrow, and merchandise will be available – head to 10 Emeri Street, Stapylton, Queensland, between 10am and 2pm.
