Barry Ryan says Will Brown and Brodie Kostecki are the only drivers he wanted to lead Erebus into Gen3.

Erebus Motorsport announced Brown and Kostecki will remain with the team next season.

Brown and Kostecki will skipper the team’s first season in the Gen3 era.

Erebus will race Camaros from next season, having campaigned Commodores since 2016.

Brown has been a product of Erebus since 2018, with Kostecki joining as a co-driver in 2020.

Both drivers were handed full-time drives by the team last season, and they responded in kind.

Brown and Kostecki battling turbulent season

Brown and Kostecki both finished in the top 10 overall, the former winning a race in Sydney.

While the new season hasn’t gone to plan, both drivers have shown glimpses of pace.

Notably, Kostecki scored a maiden ARMOR ALL Pole Position and podium in Sydney.

Critically, both drivers have completed extensive running of the Gen3 Camaro prototype.

Ryan was pleased Brown and Kostecki remained loyal to Erebus ahead of the new era.

"After bringing Brodie and Will into the main game as rookies last season, they are still both the only drivers we want to lead our team into Gen3 and what will be a critical first two seasons," team boss Ryan said.

'They have been unquestionably loyal to Erebus'

"They have been unquestionably loyal to Erebus and have committed to being here long term, and that’s something we’re very proud of.

"Great teams are hard to create and having our two drivers signed for our next journey together compliments the commitment and loyalty of the rest of our team and our goal to get to the top of Supercars.

"We still have a lot we are targeting for 2022 and we will be giving our all to win races and really target being the final team to win Bathurst in the current cars."

Team owner Betty Klimenko reiterated that the team was determined to continue to grow the team around its young stars.

"Brodie and Will have been great team-mates and we have been able to build the team around them," she said.

"They’ve done an amazing job so far and represented our team like true professionals on and off the track.

"The consistency and stability now within the team gives me confidence that we are only going to continue to grow."
