Garry Jacobson and Macauley Jones are banking extra laps today, before making their full-time Supercars debuts in Adelaide next week.

The Kelly Racing and Brad Jones Racing drivers have headed to Winton to complete one of the three rookie test days they are permitted during the year.

It follows last Thursday's pre-season running at Phillip Island for the full field, which they finished a Jacobson-led 23rd and 24th in the order.

While Jacobson raced a Nissan Altima in 2018 in the Dunlop Super2 Series and PIRTEK Enduro Cup, Kelly Racing has tweaked its aero package for the year ahead.

Adelaide's season opener will also be the RABBLE.club-backed driver's solo Supercars debut.

"It was great to dust the off-season cobwebs off at Phillip Island, and today’s Winton test will make sure we are in the best place for Adelaide," Jacobson said.

"I’ve driven these cars many times in Super2 and the endurance races, but we all know that the main game is a new level, so any extra time I can get in the car is going to be a bonus.

"We have a full program to work through today, so I’m looking forward to getting stuck into it and making the most of the track time."

Jones' day in the Team CoolDrive Commodore was rescheduled from a washout at the Victorian circuit on February 5.

The 24-year-old has extensive experience of BJR machinery, having contested the Enduro Cup since 2015 and made four Supercars wildcard appearances on top of four-and-a-half years in Super2.

BJR also has its sole 2019 Super2 entry, Jack Smith, at Winton for a pre-Adelaide test.
