Thomas Randle and his Castrol Gen3 Ford Mustang Supercar have taken centre stage in the latest instalment of a global challenge that features Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly.

Randle, a second-year full-time Tickford Racing driver, stars in the Castrol EDGE Challenge: Australia release.

Castrol, which sponsors Randle’s Ford Supercar, will release a three-part video series, which was shot in the lead-up to this year’s Australian Grand Prix.

The challenges also feature Gasly, Aussie Formula 2 driver Jack Doohan and Australian Rally and Extreme E champion Molly Taylor.

The challenges were shot at Melbourne’s Calder Park Raceway, with Randle and Taylor squaring off against BWT Alpine F1 Team duo Gasly and Doohan.

Randle, Taylor, Gasly and Doohan drive the former's Gen3 Castrol Racing Supercar around the Thunderdome in a competitive time trial.

Gasly, F1 teammate Esteban Ocon and Doohan all drove a Supercar for the first time during the event.

It was Randle’s race-ready Mustang, which was in action at Albert Park the next day.

It was followed by a slalom race in a Mighty Car Mod vehicle, before an Aussie Rules football kick off finale.

The three challenge videos will be released at 6:00pm AEST on May 26, June 1 and June 8.

"It was epic to be involved in the Castrol EDGE Challenge at Calder Park,” Randle said.

"I loved the Lapland edition, but when Castrol told me that Molly and I were going to be involved in an Australian version, I had no idea what sort of stunts they were going to throw at us.

“I’d be lying if I didn’t admit I was a little nervous when I heard Pierre and Jack were being thrown into the Castrol Racing Supercar around the Thunderdome… especially only one day out from race day!

"But they were great sports, respected the car, and gave it a serious crack.

“It was a blast to be a part of and I think it will be obvious to anyone watching the Australian Castrol EDGE Challenge that we all had a heap of fun with it.”

Randle is 19th in the championship standings heading to the betr Darwin Triple Crown on June 16-18.
