Pulsar Watches is the newest sponsorship partner of V8 Supercars with the announcement the multinational has become the Official Watch Partner of the sport.

In a cut-throat sport where tenths of seconds are the difference between success and failure, Pulsar Watches will showcase their precision and performance on track and on screen.

Part of the designation includes Pulsar featuring split times in the television broadcast and on v8supercars.com.au as the official watch partner of the race and event series.

In announcing the three-year partnership, V8 Supercars CEO James Warburton said the endorsement of the sport from a major global company such as Pulsar was considerable.

“As part of the Seiko family, Pulsar is celebrated internationally for exquisite time pieces that are stylish, accurate and precise,” Warburton said.

“This is fantastic news for our sport as we add to an impressive and expanding list of partners wanting to leverage their brand and activate with a premium international sporting property.”

Pulsar Watches, established in 1972, has always had a commitment to developing cutting edge creations and unique designs.

“At the core of Pulsar’s strength as a watchmaker is its chronographs and in the V8 Supercar Championships we have the perfect audience that truly understand the need for accuracy and precision,” Seiko Australia Group Marketing Manager Stuart Smith said.

“The difference between success and failure in V8 Supercars is measured in milliseconds and millimeters with accuracy, precision and performance the key factors.

“All of these factors are shared benchmarks in the development of Pulsar Watches and are part of the strong bond between Pulsar Watches and the V8 Supercars Championship.”

Smith said the chance to team up with V8 Supercars was a compelling case.

“The opportunity to become the official watch partner for Australia’s premier Motorsport category and a globally recognised series is second to none,” he said.

“The fan base is the most loyal, passionate and committed in world sport and we are eager and excited to be partnered with the V8 Supercars for the exciting season ahead.”

The Pulsar partnership formally commences at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide where around 270,000 fans will be trackside and millions of viewers will watch the opening event, now with five manufacturers on the grid, on the 2014 calendar.

The V8 Supercars hit the track from 10.15am local time today for practice and qualify this afternoon at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide.
