Power rankings: Which driver ranked highest in Tasmania?

Shane van Gisbergen won his sixth straight race to open 2021, but his Tasmania weekend didn't end the way it began.

It was a weekend for Red Bull Ampol Racing teammate Jamie Whincup to shine, while Chaz Mostert finally cracked the big time with his new team.

After every round in 2021, the Supercars.com team will assess every driver’s performance and then score them out of 10.

The five scores are then averaged out to produce a race score.

With an eye on the OTR SuperSprint, Supercars.com has rounded up the key performers from the Beaurepaires Tasmania SuperSprint.

1) Jamie Whincup

Race 6: 2nd
Race 7: 1st
Race 8: 5th
Score: 9.0

Whincup couldn't match van Gisbergen on Saturday, but returned a new force on Sunday to lead his teammate in both 44-lap sprints.

=2) Shane van Gisbergen

Race 6: 1st
Race 7: 2nd
Race 8: 6th
Score: 8.8

Van Gisbergen was peerless on Saturday with a pole lap record and race win, but his qualifying performance on Sunday let him down, despite recording finishes of second and sixth.

=2) Chaz Mostert

Race 6: 4th
Race 7: 6th
Race 8: 1st
Score: 8.8

Mostert scored his first win since 2019, and first for Walkinshaw Andretti United. It was set up after finishes of fourth and sixth. despite starting 10th for Sunday's earlier race.

4) Will Davison

Race 6: 5th
Race 7: 3rd
Race 8: 3rd
Score: 8.6

Davison bounced back from a lacklustre Sandown weekend to score two podiums on Sunday, having raced to fifth on Saturday. He qualified fifth for all three races, and will be one to watch at The Bend.

5) Anton De Pasquale

Race 6: 3rd
Race 7: 13th
Race 8: 2nd
Score: 8.4

De Pasquale broke through for a maiden Shell V-Power Racing Team podium on Saturday, and was second behind Mostert in Race 8. A poor start in Race 7 cost him, with the #11 Mustang turned around at the hairpin on the opening lap.

=6) Will Brown

Race 6: 9th
Race 7: 5th
Race 8: 15th
Score: 8.0

The Erebus Motorsport rookie raced like a seasoned pro, scoring a top 10 on Saturday before recorded a career-best qualifying result of fourth on Sunday. He finished fifth, beating some big names, before running out of speed and tyres in the finale.

=6) Zane Goddard

Race 6: 18th
Race 7: 18th
Race 8: 7th
Score: 8.0

The Matt Stone Racing young gun's dual finishes of 18th in Races 6 and 7 were wiped away by a stunning end to the weekend. Goddard qualified a brilliant fourth, before holding his own to finish seventh in the enthralling finale.

8) Mark Winterbottom

Race 6: 7th
Race 7: 7th
Race 8: 11th
Score: 7.6

Winterbottom dropped more ground in the championship and fell to sixth, but it wasn't through a lack of trying. The Team 18 driver scored finishes of seventh and seventh before he run out of grip in Race 8 to miss the top 10 for only the second time this season.

9) Cameron Waters

Race 6: 6th
Race 7: 4th
Race 8: 4th
Score: 7.4

Waters missed out in the races, failing to clinch a podium despite three front-row starts. Regardless, he was the driver to beat over one lap, and should he improve his tyre life woes, he'll be a force.

10) Scott Pye

Race 6: 8th
Race 7: 9th
Race 8: 14th
Score: 7.2

Like his teammate, Pye was consistent and finished in the top 10 in the first two races, before his tyres left him down in the finale. He did, however, pull off the move of the weekend on Jack Le Brocq.
