V8 Supercars recently approved teams to run their own fonts for numbers on the race cars.

A handful of teams took up the option, with Holden Racing Team, DJR Team Penske, Preston Hire Racing and Nissan among those running new-look numbers on the front and side windows.

Garry Rogers has always been for V8 Supercars with unique numbers that identify the drivers – so it’s no surprise his Volvo S60s have also adopted the change.

Teams received approval to change the font of the car numbers the week prior to the Clipsal 500 Adelaide, with official communication stating “teams have the freedom to use their desired font for windscreen and Competition numbers, provided it is still legible by both timekeepers and trackside marshals”.

Tell us what you think of the new look numbers in the field – do you think they should be adopted by more teams in pit lane?
