Anton De Pasquale has drawn level with Peter Brock, John Bowe and teammate Will Davison’s season pole hauls in Sydney.

De Pasquale claimed his fourth ARMOR ALL Pole Position at Sydney Motorsport Park in five attempts to take his season tally to eight.

The Shell V-Power Racing Team driver will start Sunday afternoon's Race 24 from the best possible position alongside Shane van Gisbergen.

Van Gisbergen later clinched pole for the floodlit Race 25.

It was van Gisbergen's sixth pole of the season, first since the NTI Townsville 500 and first at SMSP.

De Pasquale claimed all three ARMOR ALL Poles at last weekend’s Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight.

Only three drivers have scored more than eight poles in a season.

Scott McLaughlin, who De Pasquale effectively replaced, claimed a record 16 poles in his maiden season in Shell colours four years ago.

Kiwi amphibian - ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight Qualifying 25

The New Zealander claimed 15 poles in 2019 and 2020, 13 in 2018, and 10 in his first campaign aboard a Garry Rogers Motorsport Volvo.

Jamie Whincup, who will start on Saturday, scored 13 poles in 2013 and 10 in 2010. Chaz Mostert, who will start on Saturday, claimed 10 for Prodrive Racing Australia in 2015.

Race 24 will commence at 4:35pm AEDT, with Race 25 to round out the ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight at 7:30pm.
