Pit Lane Live to be broadcast from pit garages

The fan-favourite Pit Lane Live program will be broadcast from inside the Mount Panorama pit complex this evening, due to wet weather.

The program, which will go ahead as planned from 7:00pm AEDT, will now be broadcast from the inside the team garages instead of in the pit lane area.

Jess Yates, Mark Skaife, Mark Beretta, Riana Crehan and Emma Freedman will bring all the action to the program, broadcast on both Fox Sports 503 (The Bathurst Channel) and 7mate.

For the safety of fans, the event won’t be open to spectators who would regularly stand in pit lane.

The popular Harris Park precinct at the bottom of Mount Panorama will remain open until 9:00pm AEDT. B

ands will perform outside the Bathurst Public House throughout, while the Food Court will also remain open along with other activations operating in that area.

The finals of the PIRTEK Pit Stop Challenge featuring the Dick Johnson Racing Team, Walkinshaw Andretti United, Triple Eight Race Engineering and Brad Jones Racing teams will also be postponed.

They will be rescheduled for either the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 or VALO Adelaide 500.

Supercars Head of Broadcast David Tunnicliffe said: “We will put together a top-class show again tonight and fans from around Australia will get to enjoy a fun hour of live entertainment on the broadcast.

“Unfortunately, the weather gods haven’t been kind so we won’t have fans joining this year’s program, but the show will go on and it will be a lot of fun, so we hope all our fans tune in after another exciting day here at Mount Panorama.

“Ours is a very serious business between the flags, but this is a bit of a chance for the guys, team owners and members of the crew to show their personalities and let their hair down.

“We will still be celebrating everything as planned with plenty for surprises in store for fans.

Pit Lane Live will be broadcast on the Bathurst Channel, Fox Sports 503 and 7mate from 7:00pm AEDT tonight, check local guide for details.
