Next weekend’s NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint will be a highlight for Nick Percat, who records his 300th Supercars race start.

Percat will become the 31st driver to notch up 300 race starts in Race 12, having made his main game debut all the way back in 2010.

The now Walkinshaw Andretti United driver follows teammate Chaz Mostert, who clocked up 300 starts at Albert Park in March.

Percat’s career is highlighted by a Bathurst win in 2011, Adelaide victory in 2016 and dual Sydney wins in 2020.

Supercars.com looks at the South Aussie driver’s milestone starts ahead of his 300th race at Symmons Plains.

Race 1: Phillip Island, 2010

Percat debuted in the main game aboard a Walkinshaw-run Commodore in the 2010 Phillip Island 500 alongside Andrew Thompson.

At 21, Percat raced to 26th with Thompson, who was joined by US-based Ryan Briscoe for Bathurst.

Percat returned to the co-driver fold in 2011 alongside Garth Tander at the Holden Racing Team, and famously won the Bathurst 1000 on debut.

Race 50: Adelaide, 2015

Percat had to wait until 2014 to get a full-time Supercars drive, and shifted to Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport for 2015.

On home soil in Adelaide, Percat marked race No. 50 with a finish of 15th.

Race 100: Bathurst, 2016

Percat remained with LDM until the end of 2016, with that season opening with a shock victory on the Adelaide Sunday as rain fell.

Race No. 100 was marked with a stunning podium finish at Mount Panorama, with Cameron McConville joining him on the third step.

It was Percat’s third Bathurst podium in six starts, having finished third with Briton Oliver Gavin in 2014.

Race 150: Darwin, 2018

Percat moved to Brad Jones Racing in 2017, and recorded start No. 150 with the team at Hidden Valley the following season.

Race No. 150 was marked with a finish of sixth, with Percat going on to finish 10th overall in his second season with BJR.

Race 200: Sydney, 2020

Percat became a force with BJR, and notably won two races with the team at Sydney Motorsport Park when the 2020 season resumed following a COVID-19 shutdown.

One of those wins came in Percat’s 200th start, with the driver’s win the first for BJR since 2016.

Race 250: Sydney, 2021

Start No. 250 came at the same venue a year later, with Percat finishing seventh in the second race of the third Sydney round.

Percat ended his time with BJR with sixth in the Repco Bathurst 1000 before he returned to the Walkinshaw fold.

The 297-start veteran is 25th in the points heading to the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint on May 19-21.

Tickets for the event are on sale on Supercars.com and Ticketek.com.
