Penrite Racing has retained its Indigenous liveries for the forthcoming NTI Townsville 500.
The Grove squad is the latest team to keep its special look for a second consecutive round.
Supercars’ official Indigenous Round celebrations featured liveries on each car for Darwin.
Shell V-Power Racing Team, Walkinshaw Andretti United and Team 18 are all keeping their special schemes.
Feedback from fans influenced Penrite Racing’s decision to do the same.
The Penrite Racing artwork was designed by Darwin-born Indigenous artist Lorraine Kabbindi White.
She is also Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) Boarding House Manager, with MITS a Grove Racing partner.
The story depicted within the livery is based on Kabbindi’s artworks ‘The First Bees’ and the ‘Freshwater Mermaids’.
It comes after Grove Racing made a $44,000 donation to Indigenous youth in Darwin.
Penrite Racing Team Principal David Cauchi was keen to show off the livery to the First Nations population in North Queensland.
"Our whole team really loves the look of our Indigenous livery and the feedback from the fans has been great so we're running it again in Townsville,” Cauchi said.
"Furthermore we're aware that there's a large First Nations population in North Queensland so hopefully it inspires some more young people from Indigenous communities to chase a career in motorsport.
"We want to pay back everyone behind the scenes that helped put it together so we're focused on that and capitalising on good qualifying pace.”
David Reynolds and Lee Holdsworth are fifth and 12th respectively in the standings.
