Melbourne fans can get one final look at the Gen3 Ford Mustangs of Penrite Racing this Saturday, before they are loaded up for the Thrifty Newcastle 500.

Bathurst winner David Reynolds, rookie Matt Payne and their brand new Supercars will be at Penrite’s Lane 88 Museum from 10:00am to 1:00pm this Saturday.

Lane 88 Auto Museum houses a small private collection of vehicles owned by John and Margaret Dymond.

The Dymond family has operated Penrite Oil since 1979.

England-born John ‘JD’ Dymond accumulated the collection over many years.

The Dymonds purchased the Penrite Oil Company in 1979, with company one of Australian motoring’s most recognisable brands.

The museum houses the likes of a 1903 Curved Dash Oldsmobile, 1920 Ford Model T, 1967 Holden HR and 1983 Cheetah MK8.

Many are tipping the Penrite Racing team to be a dark horse for race wins in 2023 given the squad’s new-look engineering line up headed by Team Principal David Cauchi, Bathurst winner Grant McPherson and Reynolds’ Bathurst-winning engineer Alistair McVean.

Details for the open day can be found on the Penrite Racing site.

Tickets for next week’s season opening Thrifty Newcastle 500 are available through Ticketek.
