Penalty costs Bright 11 spots

Jason Bright has lost 11 positions after a post-race penalty confirmed by the stewards this morning.

The Team BOC driver – along with Tim Slade ­– was deemed to have overtaken before the control line on the Safety Car restart in Race Five at the Tyrepower Tasmania 400.

Both had 25 seconds added to their race times, shifting Bright from sixth place to 17th in yesterday’s finishing positions, and Supercheap Auto Racing's Slade from 15th to 19th.

Ford Pepsi Max Crew’s Chaz Mostert also received a reprimand after an admission of careless driving, causing contact with David Wall, and was docked 25 Championship points for his efforts.

An incident between David Reynolds and Shane van Gisbergen was also looked at, though no breach of the rules has been determined.
