Cam Waters will celebrate a long-time sponsor’s anniversary with a number change.

Waters’ Monster Energy Mustang will replace its usual #6 for the #50 at next weekend’s ITM Auckland SuperSprint.

The number change is in celebration of ENZED, which was founded in Auckland in 1972.

ENZED is a leading supplier, installer, and repairer of hydraulic hoses and connectors in Australia and New Zealand.

The company has supported Waters’ various racing efforts for over a decade.

Notably, the company was the major backer of Waters’ title-winning Super2 campaign in 2015.

ENZED has been on Waters’ car for all eight of his Supercars race victories.

It has also backed his ongoing speedway efforts, which Waters resumed in the Top End last month.

The #50 is the sixth different number Waters will race with in his 12-year Supercar career.

Waters made his Bathurst debut in a Shannons-backed Kelly wildcard in 2011 with the #77.

He returned in 2012 and raced under the #23, and shared the #18 Falcon with Jack Perkins in 2014.

Waters has campaigned the #6 since his full-time debut in 2016, bar running the #100 in Newcastle in 2018.

Waters ran the #100 in celebration of his 100th Supercars race start.

He brought up 200 race starts and 100 rounds this season, and has won three races.

"ENZED has been a huge supporter of my career, so it’s cool to give them a nod as tribute to their 50th anniversary." said Waters, who is second in the points.

"I’ve had a great relationship with ENZED for a really long time, they’ve been on board with me virtually every step of my career and we’ve shared a lot of great highlights together.

ENZED also backs Waters' speedway efforts

"We’re running the number 50 on my car in recognition of ENZED’s 50th anniversary, and to do it in ENZED’s hometown of Auckland is a nice little gesture.

"It’s going to be a huge weekend, especially with this being the last Supercars event at Pukekohe, so we’re definitely aiming to get up on the top step of the podium and add another memory to the bank."

ENZED also backed Waters' Formula Ford title campaign (2011) and his Modified Production national speedway title (2018).

"It’s really nice to see Cam and the team at Tickford helping us celebrate ENZED’s 50th anniversary when they head across to Pukekohe," ENZED Distribution & Marketing Manager Australasia Mark Engel said.

"We’ve of course had a tremendous relationship with Cam ever since he was a pup, he’s been a fantastic ambassador for us over the years, representing and connecting with our ENZED Service Centres and Hose Doctors around Australasia.

"We first partnered with Tickford when Cam came to the team in 2014, and have created a great working relationship with both of them over the years that we are very proud of.

"ENZED has come a very long way since its humble beginnings in Auckland in 1972, and seeing Cam drive the No. 50 ENZED-supported Supercar racing at Pukekohe will be a great part of our 50th anniversary celebrations."

Supercars will return to New Zealand on September 9-11. Purchase your ITM Auckland SuperSprint tickets now.
