The Seven Network has announced Chris Stubbs and Jack Perkins will host 7th Gear, a new programme aimed at bringing motorsport fans every angle of major motorsport from across the globe.

For the next 12 weeks, fans of all levels can get the latest news, race highlights and opinions in the world of motorsport.

The first episode will launch on Monday at 4.30pm AEST on 7mate, 7plus and 7Sport social platforms.

Jones’ psychological interrogation

Experienced broadcaster Stubbs and Supercars veteran Perkins will take viewers inside the biggest stories in Australia and overseas.

Former series champion Garth Tander was a special guest on Monday's first episode, with 7th Gear to exclusively discuss all things racing to some of the biggest names in global motorsport.

As Australians take centre stage in international motorsport like never before, 7th Gear will have all the major categories covered, including Supercars, TCR, Formula One, IndyCar, MotoGP, NASCAR, Rally, Extreme E and more.

Stubbs, who has more than 15 years of experience across international and Australian motorsport broadcasting, said 7th Gear would cater to the growing passion for motorsport in Australia.

"This is a golden age for Australian motorsport on the global stage, with the likes of Daniel Riccardo, Jack Miller, Will Power and Molly Taylor all race winners, and the next generation of stars such as Oscar Piastri and Remy Gardner already flying the flag," Stubbs said.

"At home, it's an exciting time too. There's a real changing of the guard in Supercars with Jamie Whincup retiring and the Camaro about to enter the fray.

"There's so much to celebrate and discuss and, as we know, motorsport is never short of a storyline."

Encores of each episode will be shown that same week on 7mate on Monday nights and on Wednesdays at 2.00pm AEST.

Episodes will be available via catch-up on-demand on 7plus and 7Sport.

Every Thursday, an additional segment, Spare Parts, will be released exclusively on 7Sport social platforms.

Spare Parts will see the 7th Gear team delve into some of motorsport’s burning issues in more depth.
