Given it is the biggest V8 Supercars race of the year, it is no surprise there are a number of special liveries on show, with a number of new looks for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

The first announced was Dick Johnson Racing's retro paint scheme - something that has become a bit of a tradition for the iconic team, come the Great Race.

It's 20 years on from Johnson and John Bowe's win in the EB Shell Falcon at Mount Panorama - and the colours have come back to adorn the doors of Junior Johnson and David Wall's ride for the weekend.

The scheme incorporates current naming rights sponsor Wilson Security and for Johnson, brings back memories of what he said at the time was his greatest win.

The retro continues with Nissan paying tribute to the days of the Bluebird, with Michael Caruso and Dean Fiore steering the Altima, running its fourth different livery of the season, after also appearing in white for the Australian Grand Prix, and black for the past two events.

The livery commemorates the 30th anniversary of Nissan's first pole position at the Mountain and driver George Fury will be at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 for a demonstration with the original Bluebird.

Both Red Bull cars will sporta special edition, Royal Australian Air Force livery around the Mount Panorama this weekend.

Both #1 and #888 entries adorn blue camouflage paint schemes as a tribute to the RAAF and recognisingthe skills, spirit and commitment of their respective motorsports and aeronautical teams.

Team ADVAM/GB will hit the track this weekend showcasing a striking new livery for it's #21 Commodore.

Refreshing it's original paint scheme, the new design features a grey base with distinct fluorescent and chrome streaks and is set to remain for the rest of the season.

After its rebuild from the horrific accident at Sandown, the Erebus Motorsport V8 Supercar of Lee Holdsworth and Craig Baird will return to the track with a GT-inspired livery for their Bathurst campaign.

A number of others debuted new looks at Sandown, to continue across the Pirtek Enduro Cup.

Supercheap Auto Racing celebrates its sponsor's 10-year connection to the Great Race, with commemorative colours on the Commodore to be shared by Tim Slade and Tony D'Alberto.

Russell Ingall's Commodore will run the striking OPS Gateway colours, as he and Tim Blanchard look to repeat Lucas Dumbrell Racing's top 10 finish at Mount Panorama last year.

And who could forget the wild card entry of Super Black Racing - while it has been seen on display at Sandown, this will be the first true run at a race meeting for the FPR prepared Falcon.

Make sure you head to the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 - which begins today - to see these beauties in the flesh!
