Pedders Suspension & Brakes have been unveiled as the new official damper and suspension partner of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

The news comes with confirmation of a five-year deal, which will also involve Pedders and Supashock forming a technical partnership.

That arrangement has involved a collaboration on the design, development and manufacturing of the new Supercars control damper, which debuted at the BP Ultimate SuperTest at The Bend on Tuesday.

Supercars CEO Sean Seamer welcomed Pedders and Supashock, based in Victoria and South Australia respectively, to the sport.

Pedders managing director Scott Pedder declared his excitement to align with Supercars.

“Product innovation is a key driver for our business and our technical partnership with Supashock is a testimony to this,” he said.

“It is also a huge honour for our two great companies to be the official control damper to the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

“Motorsport is part of our brand’s DNA. We enjoy watching, competing and manufacturing parts to enhance the performance and experience of vehicles.

“We are competitive by nature. We love the thrill of racing and the challenges it presents. It makes us compete on a higher level.

“Our lessons learned on the racetrack are lessons we integrate into the design and manufacture of our great range of products.

“We enjoy enhancing our customers’ vehicles to make them perform, carry loads and tow better and this is how we improve the customer experience…by racing.”

Supashock founder and managing director Oscar Fiorinotto added: “Supashock’s roots run deep in both Australian and global motorsport, it is what our business was founded upon.

“The motorsport division at Supashock was proud to develop and manufacture the 2020 Supercars control damper at Supashock’s state-of-the-art facilities in Adelaide.

“We are excited to bring an Australian made product alongside our knowledge and experience to the Virgin Australia Supercar Championship in what we think will result in tight, exhilarating racing.”
