Bryce Fullwood is readying to balance his new drive and NAPA Know How Motorsport Academy ambassador role in 2022.

Fullwood clocked his first laps as a Brad Jones Racing driver at Winton on Tuesday.

The 2019 Super2 champion shifted to BJR from Walkinshaw Andretti United in the off-season.

Darwin-born Fullwood will continue his lead role for NAPA with its innovative academy in 2022.

Away from his regular #14 Middy’s Commodore, Fullwood will educate grassroots drivers on what it takes to succeed on and off-track.

Fullwood is one of four academy mentors that gives advice and tuition on driving, fitness, commercial and media aspects of the sport.

The Academy is open to any driver over 13 years of age from Australia and New Zealand.

"It's great to confirm that I will continue in my role with NAPA Auto Parts and the Motorsport Academy in 2022," he said.

"We had such a great reaction to the launch of the academy, with over 200 applications from a range of different racing disciplines.

"It’s really cool to offer something back to grassroots motorsport.

"Some of us have dreams of being at the elite level of racing, while some people are happy to do it at the most professional level that they can.

"The NAPA Motorsport Academy can help no matter where they fit into the landscape."

A key part of motorsport is gelling with a team around you, something Fullwood is well aware of with BJR.

"The biggest thing for me will be gelling with everyone at BJR," he told Supercars.com at Winton.

"It's straightforward in theory to go from one car to another.

"But jumping into a new team environment with new people is always a challenge.

"Everyone at BJR has been so welcoming. I know the drivers well; I lived with Andre [Heimgartner] a few years ago.

"I can't wait to get to Sydney to get it all underway."

"The entire Trans Tasman NAPA team is so proud to be continuing our partnership with Bryce," said Mitch Wiley, Head of Sponsorship – NAPA Auto Parts.

"We can’t wait to work with all of our participants in the NAPA Know How Motorsport Academy, as well as celebrate all the great motorsport that NAPA is involved in around the world."

The Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight will open the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship on March 4-6.
