The first SuperSprint round of 2022 was kind to some and unkind to others, none more so than Jack Le Brocq.

Matt Stone Racing enjoyed strong pace across the weekend, but Le Brocq raced without luck.

Le Brocq lost a combined 47 positions across the three races, including two retirements.

The one race he finished, he dropped from the lead on the second lap after a career-best second in qualifying.

Ironically, the driver he clashed with in Race 4, Andre Heimgartner, suffered the second-worst position loss of the weekend.

Heimgartner finished eighth on Saturday, but retired from Race 4 and was 24th in Race 5.

Conversely, Will Brown made a combined 25 positions across the three races; however, it doesn't tell the whole story.

Brown qualified poorly in all three races, and didn't finish in the top 10 in any of the 44-lap sprints.

The Erebus driver made up a combined 20 positions in the two Sunday sprints, but was left wanting on overall pace.

Lee Holdsworth made up 20 positions in the first two races and backed up teammate David Reynolds' Race 4 podium with a top 10.

He dropped from 14th to ninth in the finale, but still left Tasmania with his head held high after his Sydney troubles.

Points leader Shane van Gisbergen won from fifth on Saturday, and from pole and third on Sunday. He also scooped bonus fastest lap points in two races.

Brad Jones Racing duo Jack Smith and Macauley Jones combined for 21 positions gained, with Anton De Pasquale also gaining 11 positions.

De Pasquale's teammate Will Davison scored two podiums, but a slow stop ruined his Race 4 effort; he dropped from sixth to 15th.

The 2022 season will resume at Albert Park on April 7-10.
