Another race favourite willstart from the rear of the grid with Chaz Mostert being penalisedfor passing under red flags in today's qualifying session at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

Thepenalty is exclusion from the session - and he will also be handed a $5000 fine, with $3000 suspended, for the indiscretion.

The Pepsi Max Crew driver finished 14th in the qualifying session, despite showing quick pace throughout the day at Mount Panorama.

It is another bizarre incident in a qualifying session that saw plenty unfold at Mount Panorama, with Championship leader Jamie Whincup and Thursday's fast man David Reynolds shunting their V8 Supercars.

Last year - Mostert's first at Mount Panorama - saw him start from pit lane, after a tough weekend which began with a substantial crash.

Other Ford Performance Racing drivers Mark Winterbottom and Jack Perkins have qualified for the ARMOR ALL Top 10 Shootout tomorrow afternoon, and will be looking to better their respective fourth and seventh positions.
