Chaz Mostert has been disqualified from Practice 2 at the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown.

A breach of tyre pressure rules was found on the #25 Mobil 1 Optus entry.

Mostert, who topped Practice 1, set the sixth fastest time in the final hit-out before qualifying.

Tyre regulations were updated ahead of the event, mandating a higher minimum tyre pressure of 20psi.

The left rear tyre on Mostert's car was below the mandatory minimum tyre pressure when he rolled out of pit lane.

As a result, the Walkinshaw Andretti United spearhead was disqualified from the time sheets.

Dunlop's new Super Soft tyre is making its Hidden Valley debut this weekend.

The regulation changes are both the interest of safety to reduce the risk of tyre wall damage and produce tyre wear.

"During the Session the Stewards received a report from the HoM that the pressure of the rear left Control Tyre on Car 25 as it entered the Circuit at the commencement of the Session was below the mandatory minimum tyre pressure for this Event of 20psi to be achieved at any time a Car is on the Circuit during any Session,” read the stewards report.

"The matter was investigated following the Session and, after an admission to the breach by WAU Racing, the Stewards disqualified Car 25 from Practice 2."

Broc Feeney, Cam Waters, David Reynolds, Brodie Kostecki and Lee Holdsworth now fill positions six through 10.

The session was topped by Shane van Gisbergen, with Andre Heimgartner second ahead of Anton De Pasquale.

Cars will return to the track on Saturday for ARMOR ALL Qualifying at 11:45am local time.
