Brad Jones Racing's Jason Bright has released a new lot of mini helmets to remember Hall of Famer, the late Jason Richards.

The replicas represent Richards' V8 Supercars career from 2008 to early 2010, whenhe raced for Tasman Motorsport ('08) and Brad Jones Racing ('09 onwards), worn during career highlights including two Bathurst 1000 podiums and his first V8 Supercars pole position in Darwin.

Richards and Bright were close friends when the kiwi shifted to BJR, and Bright enjoys organising the replica helmets for fans and for the Richards family, with all proceeds going to Richards' wife Charlotte and young daughters Sienna and Olivia.

"JR was very popular in the V8 Supercar community and having a memento on the shelf, including his different race helmets over the years, will be a pretty good way to remember him," Bright said. "It's great to be able to look after his daughters as well."

Richards lost his brave battle with Adreno Cortical Carcinoma (ACC) in December of 2011, after having been diagnosed the year prior.

His last race in a V8 Supercars was at the Australian Grand Prix support event - a phenomenal weekend where he finished second despite feeling the physical effects of his illness.

"It was a pretty amazing weekend - he got in there, certainly wasn't very well, he'd just had an operation - and what he did that weekend made a lot of us sit up and take notice," Bright said.

"So it is a pretty special time of year heading up to the Grand Prix [after the Clipsal 500]."

This is the second lot of mini replica helmets Bright has produced, originally organising a replica of Richards' 2011 helmet at the end of 2013.

Bright won the inaugural Jason Richards Memorial Trophy in New Zealand in 2013, one of his V8 Supercar career highlights.
