Practice One kicked off the Chill Perth 360this morning, with the bottom half of the field and rookie drivers hitting2.42km Barbagallo Raceway.

Mid-way through the half hour sessionFujitsu GRM’s Scott McLaughlin was quickest – his time of 56.6743sec stood for theremainder of the session.

Though McLaughlin sits 10th in theChampionship, his rookie status allows him to participate in all of today’ssessions.

The Kiwi young gun said it felt good ontrack, and while a lead came off the car on his last Practice lap, it was aquick fix for the boys.

“It’s still early days but the car feelsgood straight away,” McLaughlin said.

“It’s a good start but there’s still a longway to go.

“We’re there or thereabouts, so that willgive us a good base.

“We’re talking about whether we’ll do pitstops or not – it’s going to be touch and go but we probably won’t know untiltomorrow.”

McLaughlin was followed by Brad Jones Racing’sWilson Security driver David Wall, and The Bottle-O Falcon of David Reynolds.

The three were the only drivers to breakinto the 56secs, with Dean Fiore fourth on the tally with a 57.0892sec.

Newcomer Chaz Mostert ended the sessioneighth, one position behind Scott Pye in his repaired Commodore.

Practice Two has just begun andincludes all drivers.
