As it happened: Sydney pre-season test

The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship got underway with official pre-season testing at Sydney Motorsport Park.

All 25 brand-new Gen3 cars were put to the test at the Eastern Creek venue on Wednesday.

The day was split into two sessions: the first session will run between 8:30am and 12:30pm, and the second between 1:00pm and 5:00pm.

Andre Heimgartner set the pace in both sessions for Brad Jones Racing in his new #8 R&J Batteries Camaro.

Once testing is complete, all attention turns to the Thrifty Newcastle 500, which runs March 10-12 on the streets of NSW's second-largest city.
