An “awesome" top five finish in the Beaurepaires Melbourne SuperSprint finale has seen Jack Le Brocq continue his top 10 run in 2023.

Le Brocq was classified fifth in Sunday’s Race 6, which was his best result for Matt Stone Racing since joining the team last year.

It was just the fourth top five result by an MSR driver after Jake Kostecki (Darwin 2021) and Todd Hazelwood (Tasmania and Albert Park 2022).

The 30-year-old has now placed in the top 10 in every race he has finished this season.

Le Brocq’s run was spoiled by a crash in Friday’s race, which was bookended by results of eighth, sixth and fifth.

“A top five result is awesome for the team,” Le Brocq said.

"We had a pretty strong weekend and obviously after a little mishap it’s always nice to rebound like we have.

"To also get back in the top 10 of the championship is awesome. Every race we’ve finished we’ve been in the top 10 now.

“Pretty stoked and it’s a credit to all the boys, they’re doing a great job.”

Le Brocq crashed at high speed late in Friday’s race, heavily damaging his #34 Truck Assist Camaro.

MSR returned the car to the track on Saturday, and he duly qualified strongly to set up more potential top 10 efforts.

He delivered in spades, Le Brocq first racing to sixth on Saturday night before coming home sixth on Sunday.

That became fifth once Bryce Fullwood was penalised over an unsafe release.

Despite the Friday DNF, Le Brocq was ninth for the weekend, and is ninth in the championship.

"It was a pretty full on race, but the guys in the pit stop did a good job; they’re getting better and better as we go on,” he said.

"We can get a little more aggressive on strategy as well knowing the boys can back that up with a quick stop.

"Looking forward to Perth.”

The 2023 season will resume at the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint on April 28-30.
