Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport has been penalised for failing to submit the RMA Racing Commodore's engine log to the stewards.

The team has copped a $10,000 fine, with $7000 suspended, and exclusion from practice sessions one and two at the Wilson Security Sandown 500, in line with the V8 Supercars rules.

Rule 8.10.2 states: "So as to verify the durability of the specified components used in each engine, each Team will be required to fully complete an Engine Component Specification and Usage Log as contained in the Rules for each engine in the Team's possession. The completed form, in its entirety, must be submitted to the CTM no later than 1600 hours on the Thursday in the week, which a Meeting is held."

The team has changed engine manufacturers for the Wilson Security Sandown 500, switching from KRE to Noonan Race Engineering (NRE), and the oversight was just an admin error from the team.

Team boss Lucas Dumbrell admitted it was not intentional, but a costly oversight. "It's not like we're running a V10!" he joked.

Russell Ingall pairs up with Tim Blanchard this weekend, with the Holden Commodore running a new livery for the Pirtek Enduro Cup.

Blanchard was 17th in the final session today.

Ingall is a former winner of the Sandown 500, having tasted victory in 1998 with Larry Perkins.
