The 60/60 Super Sprint format returns at the Chill Perth 360 at Barbagallo Raceway.

Jamie Whinup starts from pole with Jason Bright alongside him on the front row.

Whincup gets a great jump, Bright moves to the inside but loses second to Lowndes.

Starting lap 2 we have Whincup, Bright, Lowndes, Coulthard, Winterbottom, Alex Davison, Premat, Will Davison, Mostert, Van Gisbergen. Engel dropped to 11th.

L4 Tander straight off at the last turn.

L5 ingall in pits, getting gravel cleaned out of front.

Problem with Will Davison's tyres. L6. Down in 27th.

Front of the pack is all Triple Eight and BJR - Whincup, Lowndes, Bright, Coulthard. Top five rounded out by Winterbottom.

L9 Todd Kelly off at T6.

L14 top 10: Whincup, Lowndes, Bright, Coulthard, Winterbottom, Alex Davison, Premat, Mostert, Van Gisbergen, McLaughlin. Engel back in 16th. Tander 25 after the off and Will Davison in last position. Fortunately Will and Todd Kelly will benefit from the new ruling, allowing drivers one lap down to rejoin on the lead lap for the second half.

L20 Van Gsibergen and McLaughlin passed Mostert. The three young guns were battling for 8th-10th. Reynolds also around Mostert, who has dropped to 11th.

L21 Bad Sportsmanship flag to Engel for blocking. He is still in 16th.

L23 Winterbottom looks like he's putting pressure on Coulthard (4th). Only two laps to go until half time.

L25 Winterbottom through for p4. Means he will be on the outside for the restart.

Last corner last lap and Winterbottom is through on Bright to start the second half in third.

Rick Kelly and Garth Tander were battling - Scott Pye bought it and had a big off track excursion.

HALF TIME

Pye: "That one hurt a bit more than the head on... Struggled badly with the rears going off... Thought I was clear on Rick... It's unfortuante, the car was ok."

Will Davison: "We have to reuse the front right tyre... we've got another crack now, so let's go." He will rejoin on the lead lap.

One minute to go on the clock and we'll be on the second half. Double file rolling restart should look great coming down the hill into turn eight!

Scott Pye will not be taking part in the second half of the race.

We're green and some were on the grass - but a clean run into turn one. Bright's into third. Looking tight – Van Gisbergen seems to have a drama. Pye's rejoined.

L28 Change of the lead – Lowndes up the inside of Whincup. Top five now Lwondes, Whincup, Bright, Winterbottom, Coulthard.

L29 Mechanical Black flag Scott Pye, loose right hand window.

L32 Battle between Tander and Todd Kelly down in 20 and 21st. Talk of steering damage to car #2 after the Pye incident.

Ten laps to go - Lowndes on his way to beating Mark Skaife's record number of wins.

Behind him is Whincup, Bright, Winterbottom, Coulthard, Alex DAvison, Courtney, Reynolds, Moffat.

Nope - Coulthard is off on L42. Come back in 17th.

Rick Kelly off at T6. Front left off Coulthard's car. L43.

L46 Winterbottom through for third. Bright now in fourth.

FINAL LAP - Lowndes leads them home, while Whincup holds off a racy Winterbottom. Bright and Alex Davison make up the rest of the top five.

And Lowndes wins the race, followed by Whincup, Winterbottom, Bright, Alex Davison, Premat, Reynolds, Courtney, van Gisbergen, Moffat.

Will Davison in 14, Mostert 15, Tander 19, Coulthard 27.
