Jake Kostecki has taken to social media to respond to his exit from Tickford Racing.

It was announced Wednesday that Tickford and Kostecki had mutually agreed to part ways.

Last December's VALO Adelaide 500 proved Kostecki’s final outing with the team.

Kostecki joined the team from Matt Stone Racing on a multi-year deal.

However, that deal lasted just one season.

“I have departed ways with Tickford Racing before the ‘23 season,” the 22-year-old wrote on social media.

“That means I’ve missed out on a full time seat in the @supercarschampionship.

Kostecki finished 22nd overall in 2022

"While looking forward to the new era of supercars it wasn’t meant to be for now.

"It’s not all sun shine and rainbows IRL but I just need to work out what’s best for me and what’s next.

"I’ll see you all soon. Thanks to the crew @tickfordracing, the whole team at @tradiebrand, @fordaustralia and the support from everyone it has been nice.”

In its statement, Tickford said it will reveal its replacement driver "in due course”.

"Tickford Racing and driver Jake Kostecki have decided to part ways by mutual agreement and will not continue with their partnership in the 2023 Supercars Championship season,” the team statement reads.

"Tickford wishes Jake well in his future endeavours.

The team will make further comment on its 2023 driver line up in due course."

The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in Newcastle on March 10-12.

Tickets are on sale on Supercars.com and Ticketek.com.
