A second Erebus Motorsport podium in as many rounds is “pretty cool", says Brodie Kostecki.

Will Brown finished third in last Sunday’s first sprint at Sandown.

It backed up Kostecki’s podium in the wet OTR SuperSprint finale in July.

It marked the first time since early 2020 that Erebus scored podiums in consecutive rounds.

It was Anton De Pasquale who first scored a podium in Sydney, before winning his first race in Darwin.

Brown’s podium was a long time coming, considering his rough start to the year.

The Queenslander’s first seven rounds were littered with bad luck, poor pit stops and poor reliability.

However, Erebus turned it around at The Bend and gave its drivers two quick cars.

Kostecki proved his wet weather skills with a fine podium, adding to his pole and podium in Sydney in March.

Speaking on Supercars’ Cool Down Lap podcast, Kostecki suggested Sandown could have been even better had they gone better in qualifying.

However, Kostecki was proud of Brown, who scored his first trophy since his Sydney win last November,

“It was great for Will to get a podium,” Kostecki said.

“We’ve had a rough couple of rounds, but we had good speed at The Bend and also here.

“We didn’t capitalise very well in qualifying, which put us back in the races.

“For the team to get two trophies in two race weekends now is pretty cool.”

In his exclusive Supercars.com column, Brown said he took delight in being able to put pressure on drivers at the front.

Brown had to overhaul David Reynolds late on to secure the final step on the rostrum.

It came just weeks after Erebus secured both drivers for 2023, with the team already into Gen3 chassis builds.

"It was awesome to get a podium after announcing the re-signing,” Brown said.

"Getting back on the podium was nice, and it's awesome to stand on the podium, but it was just refreshing to be competitive all weekend.

"For us to be back in that top five, and really be putting a bit of pressure on some people was awesome.

“It was just sort of the perfect race for being able to get on the podium.”

Erebus now heads to Pukekohe, where neither Brown or Kostecki have raced a Supercar.

Kostecki hasn’t even raced there; Brown competed in a Toyota 86 round in 2016.

When asked about the plan for Pukekohe, Kostecki said: “Hopefully get on the podium, same as everyone else.

“I’ve never raced there before, Will’s done an 86 round there.

“It’ll be a bit of a learning curve for myself, but a new track is always a challenge.

“I’m really looking forward to it."
