Reynolds drops f-bomb after disappointing qualifying

David Reynolds was left fuming after he missed out on pole position for the Pizza Hut Winton SuperSprint opener.

Shane van Gisbergen topped three-part ARMOR ALL Qualifying to claim his first Winton pole.

Reynolds, who was quick in practice, Q1 and Q2, was only good enough for seventh in Q3.

The Penrite Racing driver held the fastest time heading into the final qualifying stanza.

However, it fell away in Q3, Reynolds clocking a 1:18.6324s in his last effort.

"I’m just a bit disappointed," he said.

"I rolled out an 18.2s, then next an 18.2s, and then 18.63s, so it's just shithouse.

"I don't know [what the reason was].

"We are going to look at it and see what it is.

"Could be a driver f**k-up, but who knows."

It came after Reynolds clocked top-three pace in the morning practice sessions.

Reynolds was out-qualified by teammate Lee Holdsworth, who will start fifth for Race 13.

The result comes amid Penrite Racing's improved form throughout 2022.

Reynolds scored three podiums at Albert Park last month, with Holdsworth also claiming a podium finish.

Holdsworth fell short of a front-row start for Race 13 by 0.261s.

The 36-lap Race 13 will commence at 3:35pm local time.
