Brad Jones is remaining tight-lipped on Todd Hazelwood’s future at his eponymous team.

Hazelwood, who has so far had a challenging second year with Brad Jones Racing, hasn't yet confirmed his 2022 plans.

The 2017 Super2 champion has scored six top 10 finishes from 19 starts in 2021, and lies 14th in the standings.

After a trying start to the season, Hazelwood had a big turnaround in form in Townsville, and is now on a run of four straight top 10 finishes.

The strong Townsville results saw Hazelwood climb from 18th to 14th in the championship.

It also marked the first time in 2021 that Hazelwood had outpaced BJR teammate Nick Percat, who is eighth overall.

While Hazelwood admits discussions about his future have begun, Jones is yet to indicate how negotiations are progressing.

Speaking during Supercars.com's all-in team principal meeting last week, Jones was quick to deflect questions about his driver line-up for 2022.

“I think everyone in the group is uncomfortable talking about what’s going on in 2022 with their driver line-up,” Jones told Supercars.com.

Earlier this season, BJR confirmed Percat had signed a multi-year extension.

Percat joined the team in 2017, and has won two races with BJR, both coming at Sydney Motorsport Park last season.

The 2011 Bathurst winner scored a Saturday podium at Hidden Valley Raceway, and has recorded 12 top 10 results in 2021.

Hazelwood recorded six top 10 finishes in 2020 en route to 17th overall; he did claim a maiden podium in Sydney, and first pole position in Townsville.

The Adelaide-born driver, who is currently living in Bundaberg with partner Alice Litzow, is keen to remain with the four-car squad.

“It’s a work in progress,” Hazelwood told Supercars.com.

“Brad and I are in discussions and hopefully over the next couple of months, we will get closer to moving forward.

“I would love to stay at BJR, and fingers crossed that comes to life and we can continue on.

“I’m really enjoying my time and I feel like the third year working together is only going to be bigger and better again.”

The Repco Supercars Championship will resume at Winton Motor Raceway in October.
