The newest team in pit lane is looking to bounce back from a challenging start to its first ever season.

Chris Pither and Garry Jacobson sit 20th and 25th respectively in the standings heading to Albert Park.

There have been promising early signs for the Peter Xibberas-backed team, with Pither recording his best qualifying result in Sydney.

Jacobson and Pither finished 16th and 19th in the opening race in Tasmania, the former recording his season-best result.

Race 4 saw Pither claim the team's best race finish to date, the Kiwi crossing the line 13th ahead of Tim Slade and Will Davison.

Remarkable history of the Australian Grand Prix

Jacobson qualified 12th the last time Supercars visited Albert Park in 2020, when he was competing for Matt Stone Racing.

It was a case of what could have been for Jacobson, with further racing activities cancelled due to the developing COVID-19 pandemic.

Looking ahead to this weekend’s Beaurepaires Melbourne 400, Jacobson is buoyed by the return to Albert Park.

"The Grand Prix is going to be a huge event," said Jacobson, who will be backed by Subway Australia for a further two rounds.

"We haven’t raced at Albert Park for two years now.

"I’m pumped for the round as the atmosphere is going be awesome.

"The Subway livery looks fantastic so I’m looking forward to getting it out around the Melbourne circuit.

"We’ve got four races, so fingers crossed the team has a successful weekend and we can do Subway proud, on and off track."

The Repco Supercars Championship season resumes at the Beaurepaires Melbourne 400 on April 7-10.

There will be four 100km-long races across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
