Popular Virgin Australia Supercars Australia program Inside Supercars shifts to a new channel and timeslot in 2017 with a revamped format to bring fans further inside the sport than ever before.

The show will air on FOX SPORTS 501 and moves to Wednesday nights at 6.30pm and repeated at 8.30pm. A further two runs will air on FOX SPORTS 506 at 7.30pm and 9.30pm.

The new format will be showcased on a brand new set and will include extensive previews and reviews for each event; as well as in depth features looking at the stories behind the drivers, teams and other key people in the sport.

The show will be hosted by Jessica Yates who will be joined by a team of senior panellists including Mark Skaife, Neil Crompton and Greg Rust.

Skaife, Crompton and Rust will take the show on the road with series of specials from team workshops, drilling down on team operations with a deeper focus on the technical side of the sport.

Greg Murphy, Russell Ingall, Aaron Noonan, Riana Crehan and Chad Neylon will also be regular contributors to the show.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the new look Inside Supercars in 2017,” Yates said.

“It’s been fantastic to work alongside Mark Skaife and Neil Crompton on our live broadcasts and I can’t wait to team up with them on Wednesday nights to take a closer look at all the big talking points on and off the track.”

Equally, Rust is excited to step out from behind the desk and add another layer of coverage in 2017.

“I’m really excited about going on the road,” Rust said. “The segment brings another dimension to what is already such a popular show which the fans will really enjoy.

“Crompo, Skaifey and I worked well together on radio for many years … and having Jess and oracles like Noonz on-board means we have a really strong team.”

Supercars General Manager of Television and Content Simon Fordham says the new format will cater to the ebb and flow of the Supercars season.

“Inside Supercars is such an important part of how we communicate our sport,” Fordham said.

“It’s exciting times ahead as we inject new life into one of our most popular products.

"The post-event review shows will essentially be what our fans already know and love, however, in the off weeks we will embrace more in-depth content from our great sport.”

The first episode of Inside Supercars for 2017 begins on Wednesday March 8, following the season opening Clipsal 500 Adelaide from March 2-5.
