The Holden Racing Team is ready put the bite on its opposition – a SharkBite in fact – in its quest for its third straight Clipsal 500 victory.

The bite comes from the signing of a new-to-V8 Supercars major sponsor, the world-renowned SharkBite Plumbing Solutions, ahead of this weekend’s season-opening classic on the streets of Adelaide.

HRT heads into the event as defending event champions, with James Courtney having taken back-to-back Clipsal 500 wins in 2014/15.

SharkBite Plumbing Solutions is a powerful brand in the portfolio of the Reliance Worldwide Corporation, an Australian-based company with operations in Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe.

Founded in 1949, RWC has grown to become a global leader in water control systems and plumbing solutions for domestic, commercial and industrial applications, including the popular SharkBite Connection Systems

“Reliance Worldwide Corporation is extremely proud and excited to announce the SharkBite partnership with the Holden Racing Team and the affiliation with V8 Supercars for the 2016 season,” Reliance Worldwide Corporation Australian CEO Brad Reid said.

“The on and off-track opportunities to showcase our premier Australian-founded and manufactured brand alongside another Australian brand-leader like HRT will be tremendous. We look forward to an exciting year that kicks off this weekend at the Clipsal 500."

Holden Racing Team Managing Director Adrian Burgess welcomed SharkBite and Reliance Worldwide Corporation to the team and said he was pleased to partner with quality, non-traditional, non-automotive brands.

“We are delighted to welcome on board a new partner to our team and to V8 Supercars – SharkBite Plumbing Solutions and Reliance Worldwide Corporation,” Burgess said.

“RWC is a world leader in its field with its innovative plumbing fittings, while SharkBite is a global brand that works well with the premium qualities of HRT.

“A partnership such as this is a feather in our team’s cap and demonstrates the synergies V8 Supercars can produce for non-traditional, non-automotive brands.

“We are excited about our partnership with RWC and SharkBite and we look forward to working closely with them and their customers.”

The eye-catching SharkBite logo been added to Courtney and team-mate Garth Tander’s HRT VF Commodores, which will be unloaded in pit lane at the Clipsal 500 circuit in Adelaide this morning.
