Supercars has responded to Facebook's decision to block news content sharing in Australia.

Proposed media bargaining laws will require social media companies to pay media outlets for using their content.

For now, Australian publishers including Supercars.com are blocked from sharing link news and updates content on Facebook.

However, the Supercars page remains, with Supercars.com readily available through search engines such as Google.

Official Supercars accounts on Twitter and Instagram are also active, so fans won't miss a beat on breaking news and highlights.

"Our Supercars page remains," a Supercars spokesperson said.

"In light of the Facebook news ban in Australia we want our community to know we are still here and will continue sharing our motorsport news, updates and information.

"We may have to adjust how we do things, but we are committed to bringing you great content, across a range of mediums, and striving to ensure our fans join us for the Supercars journey.

"Thank you for your ongoing support."

The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will commence at the Repco Mt Panorama 500 next week. Tickets are on sale now.
